Vh1 supersonic is a annual music festival held in Pune, India. Taking place within lush plains of Mahalaxmi Lawns. it debuted in 2013. from an vision conceived by Nikhil Chinapa.  Since then, Vh1 supersonic has become one of the best known music festivals in the India. It has won numerous accolades and awards, including being voted two times in a row as "Best Music Festival of the year " Over 10K attendees at the Wow Awards Asia.

History of Vh1 Supersonic:


The first edition of the festival took place on 26 to 30 December ( 5 days) with more than 100 artist for 50,000 Fans. Vh1 Supersonic 2015 sold out days before the event, with a record attendance of 100,000 visitors over 4 days( with revenue Over ₹100 crore (US$15 million)). hosted Axwell, Disclosure, Joris Voorn, Netsky, Nic Fanciulli, and Tiesto. The festival was spread across three stages: Iron Heart, Laboratoire Supersonique, and Spectrum. Each stage offered a different experience, with Iron Heart focusing on mainstream EDM, Laboratoire Supersonique focusing on underground techno and house, and Spectrum focusing on techno.

The Fourth edition Vh1 Supersonic 2017 (Pune, India, Feb 10-12) was a successful electronic music festival attracting over 41,000 attendees. Headliner debuts by Eric Prydz and Macklemore, strategic relocation to Pune, and dedicated organizers contributed to its success. The festival offered a carnivalesque vibe with diverse food, dedicated areas for specific groups, and tight security. Three main stages catered to different musical preferences. Memorable highlights included Prydz's Asia debut, chill reggae by 10,000 Lions Sound System, and Zedd's grand finale. Vh1 Supersonic 2017 cemented its position as a major contender for India's biggest music festival.

Vh1 Supersonic 2018, held February 9-11 in Pune, India, marked a significant expansion for the music festival. Moving beyond its traditional focus on Electronic Dance Music (EDM), it embraced a multi-genre approach, incorporating Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, and Dance acts into its lineup. This diversification, while introducing headliners like Major Lazer, Alt-J, Incubus, and Sean Paul, and festival faced challenges with uneven crowd engagement for certain headliners and a need for continued visual spectacle.

Vh1 Supersonic 2019, held February 16-17 at Pune's Mahalaxmi Lawns, was the sixth edition of the multi-genre music festival. The festival featured Marshmello (American DJ), Bonobo (British musician/producer), Jaden Smith (American rapper), Two Door Cinema Club (Irish indie rock band),Blackstratblues (rock), Peter Cat Recording Co. (gypsy), Skrat (punk), Sandunes (producer), and Prateek Kuhad (singer-songwriter) encompassing genres like EDM, indie rock, punk, gypsy music, and electronica.

The 2020 edition of Vh1 Supersonic, held February 7-9 in Pune, India, saw a diverse lineup of international and Indian artists ignite the stage across three vibrant days. Headliners like American rapper Machine Gun Kelly, DJ Diplo, and electronic musician Illenium (making his Indian debut) brought global beats, while homegrown talents like Divine, Ankur Tewari, and Madboy/Mink showcased the thriving Indian music scene. The festival pulsated with a variety of genres, from rock and hip-hop to electronica and future bass, with surprises like Canadian rapper Shan Vincent de Paul fusing rap with the Indian mridangam. Memorable moments included Fever 333's electrifying crowd-surfing performance and Prateek Kuhad's impromptu collaboration with Ankur Tewari.

The 8th edition of VH1 Supersonic, held February 16-18, 2023 at Pune's Mahalakshmi Lawns, marked a vibrant return after a two-year Covid. Featuring a lineup , the festival spanned five stages across genres like Pop, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Indie Pop, Techno, Reggae, and live music. Headliners like Camelphat, Bob Moses, Anne-Marie, CKay, Tyga (making his India debut), Farhan Akhtar, and Prateek Kuhad . Tyga's India debut attracting the largest turnout but Expectations run sky-high for a long-running multi-genre festival like Supersonic, especially in its comeback edition after three years away. Given their past lineups have brought in everyone from Incubus to Machine Gun Kelly to Bonobo, Illenium and Eric Prydz
